Collection Circulation Policy
Trenton Public Library
This policy approved by the Board of Trustees:
January, 2012

The library hours will be from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday.

The library will be closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day and any days when village businesses are closed.

All citizens of the Trenton trade area may use the library at no cost. All borrowers must sign the library guest log, provide a valid phone number, and show proof of residence.

Materials may be checked out for a two week period. This includes books, magazines and recorded video and audio material. Reference materials may not be checked out. If material is not on hold or waiting list it may be renewed for one additional two week period.

Materials not owned by the library may be available through inter-library loan via the Nebraska Library Commission. Those requested materials may be checked out if available and upon delivery to the library. There will be a fee associated with Inter-library loans equal to the postage required to return the materials to the holding library.

The library will maintain a reserve, request and waiting list as needed. It is the goal of the library to maintain a balance of services for all ages and genders utilizing the facilities.

A fine of five ($0.05) cents per day will be accessed for overdue materials. Damage beyond reasonable use shall be accessed up to replacement cost of the material to the satisfaction of the librarian.

Service may be revoked or denied to patrons who refuse to follow and adhere to library policies.

Computers provided by the library for internet access are free to the public. Use policies are posted by each computer.

Printing and copying fees are set at fifteen ($0.15) cents per page. Faxing transmission fees will be twenty five ($0.25) cents per page for local and toll free connections, and one ($1.00) dollar per page for long distance continental U. S. connections. The library cannot offer international fax transmission services. The fee for receiving a fax is fifteen ($0.15) cents per page.
