Confidentiality of Patron Record Policy
Trenton Public Library
This policy approved by the Board of Trustees:

Trenton Public Library is a small community library; as such it is neither specifically keeps nor maintains
a record of patron usage. However, as a small library in a rural community, circulated materials contain
physical cards with past circulation data. Past information is visible to patrons checking out material
previously circulated. It is the libraries practice and policy that the staff will not research, compile or
distribute any circulation data available. Should such information be requested it will require legal
authorization before the library allows others to do such research. If a patron desires further protection
of their library circulation data they may request the last name only on the circulation card.
No data pertaining to computer usage is available to the staff of the library.
